Still Lifes in Tlingit Language

Summary

Details

In the 6th and 7/8 Tlingit classes, students used found objects from beach and forest to create still lifes. We learned about arranging the objects so that they overlapped and shadows fell across them in interesting ways. Students then created simple drawings focusing on edges and main shapes. After adding value contrast and flat ground shadows, they added the Tlingit words for the objects using a creative text. Finally, they filled in the background with a texture related in some way to the objects.
