Ben McLuckie

Ben McLuckie is a maker, STEM educator and competitive robotics coach based in Hoonah since 1992. He currently teaches 3d design and print, computer programming and robotics to middle and high school students mostly in Hoonah, Anchorage and Juneau.

Our youth bring unbridled imagination, and it is Ben’s mission to develop within them the tools and skills of design and making for their journey of conceiving something original. Magic happens when they create that which they once thought impossible.

Coaching robotics is a full course menu for Ben, with the main dish of ‘creating by making’, served with large helpings of ‘people person’ and trimmed with technical skills. And what about the dessert? That’s the day of competition, when all the creative and hard work pays off – how sweet that is!
